When you get notified about a Newsfeed story there is a link to that story in the email. It looks like this.

Maybe I'm being thick as a whale sandwich here, but ... I always just right-click on the time stamp (within 1 minute, 2 hours ago,
Yesterday, 10:57AM, etc) and "Copy Link Location" from my browser. Like this one:
